THE PROMISED SEED

Hmm…m to Abraham a promised seed was given

A promised land to Abraham’s children

Through that seed the whole world is blessed

The promised seed to save Adam’s race

To the Almighty Elohim Adonai let Him be praised

Hmm…m through King David a seed to fulfill

Son of David and yet before Abraham was, you are

The heavens and the earth was made by Him

All creation declare the splendor of His glory

Praise Him with joy for the uprightness of His ways

Hmm…m the people thought the seed would come

A land to conquer and a kingdom to rule

With swords and spears a mighty war to wage

Hardly did they know a child to virgin given

Even the heavens and angels rejoiced at His coming

Hmm…m the best man, John, came to proclaim

A spotless lamb has come his kingdom to reclaim

Beloved Son of God, His life he gave

The hearts and souls of men to save

Mighty Son, let all bow down and worship Him

Hmm…m upon the tree a spotless lamb was slain

From the curse of the law and mankind to redeem

The Holy Spirit has come and His people to fill

All wait for the fullness of time for your reappearing

To the promised seed, all hail to the Almighty Elohim.

O GREAT AND SOVEREIGN KING

O Great and Sovereign King,

Long ago, it was written, you proclaimed.

You had returned your kingdom to reclaim.

In your kingdom the rewards I enjoy not a few.

I am citizen, yet my King I do not truly know you.

O Great and Sovereign King,

I heard your Great Love you would not spare.

So all may enter your kingdom realm, to share.

My Sovereign, I am under your covering.

Not spending the time to know you, regretting.

O Great and Sovereign King

Tested a little and sadly my heart falter

I could not hold up even under a feather

A fickle, how shall I come back to you and stand

But humbly beg forgiveness for this wayward man

O Great and Sovereign King

Who can stand the wrath of your anger and fury?

Who can stand in the midst of your glory?

No, not I, so I plead for grace and mercy,

Even your shadow will overwhelm me.

O Great and Sovereign King,

Again I prostrate myself at heaven’s gate pleading.

Maybe on me, a few drops of your mercy falling,

Let me behold but a little glimpse of your Begotten.

Your Great Love on this earth had trodden.

O Great and Sovereign King,

Let Him be my reward for that which I do not deserve.

He is whom my spirit and heart chases.

The hem of His garment let me cling,

That I may for a moment apprehend Him.

O Great and Sovereign King,

How shall I praise you, from just what I had heard?

Even the Queen of Sheba did journey,

To see for herself Solomon’s wisdom you had given.

Likewise, I hunger to see the living Word.

O Great and Sovereign King,

I come with fear and trembling,

Let me the least in your kingdom see.

To behold Him is to change forever.

So praise Him, a Great King ever.

O Great and Sovereign King,

Even if you don’t grant me my desire,

Let your Word be in my heart, a treasure.

I will live from faith to faith, ever.

Praises and honor be to you forever.

O Great and Sovereign King.

Be merciful as I am base and full of dross.

Pour your oil from my head down to my toes.

Let me with joy shout from the mountaintop.

Proclaim your Great Majesty, Mercy and Love.

       SONG BIRD

The sun shining in all its glory,

A clear azure sky is a dome over me.

I should feel blessed and free,

But, why is there this empty feeling?

I am grasping for something.

Song bird, where are you?

A cheery melody, chirp for me a few.

There is a hole not so visible.

It has been around for sometime now.

I was busy and it did not matter anyhow

Now that I have time to putter,

The hole seems a lot bigger.

Song bird, where are you?

Spellbound arias sing to fill the space.

I am neither happy nor am I sad, but maybe,

I am thinking too much about me.

A temporary distraction will do fine.

But, in the stillness of the day or nighttime,

In my solitude, the emptiness finds.

Song bird, where are you?

Whistle for me a soothing harmony.

I have been the world over,

Viewing tulip blooms and Van Gogh brushes.

At the Mariinksy Theatre, Giselle dances.

Sleeping under Saharan stars and sandy seas,

Good and wholesome distractions for me.

Songbird, where are you?

Jam for me some harmonica blues.

Maybe the emptiness is good for me.

Pain or laughter makes me feel alive,

To strive, is to live a purposeful life.

To arrive is to go past the 18th fairway,

Ha, I am rationalizing myself away.

Song bird, where are you?

Blast me with your rock n roll tunes.

Ah, to be alive is to be blessed,

But how shall I fill that emptiness?

Though unable to keep my former promises,

With new resolve and purpose, I go.

Will it be different this time? I do not know.

Song bird, where are you?

Strum a few chords, a ballad sing.

Do give me a new vision.

Breathe in me a new life to go.

From my head, let the oil flow

Down on to my beard and my toes.

Less of me and of you, I desire more.

Song bird, where are you?

Beat the drum and let the rhythm flow.

I know this chosen path is not an easy.

By myself I am unable to keep, you see,

As many promises are broken by me.

So help me fall and die.

To die is to live and dying is not pretty, sigh.

Song bird, where are you?

Play a requiem for a farewell song.

When the time is come,

Return this base mortal to the soil.

There will be no more struggle or toil,

And no reward will I claim, after.

But, be among the glorious flowers ever

Song bird, where are you?

Blow your trumpet, a resurrection song.

ICE COLD WATER

I knew I was wrong.

But, I was just a little boy.

Steel myself against the pain inflicted,

Steel myself against the hurt.

You would not see my tears.

Turned my heart into ice-cold water

I knew I did wrong.

Not yet a teen and just a young boy,

But I would not let you see my pain.

I would not let you see my hurt.

You would not see my tears.

Turned my heart into ice-cold water.

Then I did no wrong.

I was a young man,

I cannot feel the pain.

Ice-cold water ran in my veins

And I could not feel glad or sad.

Did not give it any thought, I am afraid.

Then I did no wrong.

I was a fully-grown man,

Ice-cold water in my heart remained

I cannot feel any hurt,

Nor did I feel happy or blue.

I did not get help or know what to do.

Now I have done no wrong.

Upon my head are a few grey hairs,

Some ice-cold water is still there.

I seldom shed a tear,

Feel compassion or full of cheer.

All is set and nothing can be done.

Pride would not let me cry

Nor let me shed a tear.

Pride hid my aching pain and hurt.

I had forgiven but the scars ran deep.

Now there is no cure or little hope,

For a heart that pumps ice-cold water.

Life is sometimes sadly humorous.

Is it pride or is it stubbornness?

Ice-cold water is like a two-edged knife,

It has ruined many lives.

But it gives me self worth or esteem.

It preserves me and keeps me going.

To the great Elohim, Adonai, my preserver.

Come heal my heart that flows ice-cold water.

Fill it with gladness see, the glory in your flowers.

Let warm tears flow for your love and sacrifice.

Praise and worship to you, my saviour King.

Would you be my exceeding joy, my Elohim?

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile,

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, where are you?

Your beauty is known the world over,

Precious stones of blue and ruby red,

Embedded in golden necklaces,

Embraces your fair and slender neck.

We have looked high,

We have looked low,

We have looked deep in all the Pyramids,

But, Queen Nefertiti, where are you?

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile,

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, where are you?

Perfect in beauty, most beautiful,

In white flowing robes and sash of red,

A golden diadem or a double plume,

And sun disk upon your royal head.

We have looked high,

We have looked low,

We have looked in all the Sarcophagi,

But Queen Nefertiti, where are you?

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile,

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, where are you?

They painted you with full red lips,

High cheek bones and black eye brows,

Wearing a flat top golden crown,

You are a beauty to behold.

We have looked high,

We have looked low,

We looked in all the Alabaster jars,

But Queen Nefertiti, where are you?

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile,

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, where are you?

We see you engraved in stones,

True love of Akhenaten, Ruler of the Nile,

Your cartouche talks of your grace,

And wisdom in this great land.

We have looked high,

We have looked low,

We have checked all the Mummies found,

But, Queen Nefertiti, where are you?

Chorus:            Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile

Nefertiti, Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile,

We have looked high, we have looked low,

Mummy, oh mummy, where are you?
